Bill Alston
With 30+ years experience and through his detailed understanding of the oil & gas industry, Bills’ depth of knowledge has guided ASCENT through a significant period of growth and evolution. Bill’s vision and stewardship has positioned ASCENT as one of the leading engineering firms in Western Canada and through his leadership, ASCENT continues to progress our ability to execute on behalf of our clients.

Ryan Rawlyk
Ryan is a senior energy executive with over 30 years of experience in upstream operations, infrastructure development, and corporate strategy across the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. He has held senior leadership roles including President & CEO, COO, VP Production & Operations, and Engineering Manager, leading multidisciplinary teams across assets in the Montney, Cardium, Duvernay, Clearwater, Glauconite, Sparky and Slave Point plays. He is known for his operational and facilities experience, aligning technical execution with disciplined capital management to deliver sustainable, high-value outcomes.


Senior Technical Advisor
Bob Pavan
Bob serves as Senior Technical Advisor, where he plays a critical role in supporting the company’s technical excellence and project delivery. With decades of industry experience and deep technical expertise, he remains actively involved in projects across the organization. In his advisory capacity, Bob provides senior-level technical oversight, supports complex and high-risk work, and serves as a trusted resource to both leadership and engineering teams. His steady guidance and practical insight are instrumental in maintaining ASCENT’s high standards of safety, quality, and execution.

Haney Cheema
Haney leads the delivery of complex capital projects across the energy sector. With a background spanning complex industrial facilities, power and energy infrastructure, Haney partners with asset owners to align engineering execution with commercial strategy and long term asset performance. In addition to overseeing major project delivery, Haney leads ASCENT's Emerging Energy Program, advancing the firm's role in both traditional and emerging industrial development. His approach combines disciplined EPC execution with strategic growth leadership, enabling clients to deploy capital confidently, manage risk effectively, and scale in evolving energy markets.


Director, Operations
Tyler Ries
Tyler has 25+ years of experience in Piping/Civil Design and Drafting. His career has consisted of designing, leading, and managing teams over various sized projects. He brings experience in well site facilities, pipelines, gas plants, compressor stations, SAGD and power generation. Tyler is technically involved in the day-to-day details of on-going project execution by directly dealing with clients and providing support to senior managers.

Brittney Gosling
Brittney leads talent acquisition, facilities operations, and HSE coordination. With over a decade of progressive leadership within the organization, she has been instrumental in building the systems, culture, and workforce that support ASCENT’s sustained growth and operational excellence. A strategic and results-driven executive, Brittney aligns human capital strategy with corporate objectives, ensuring the right talent, structure, and engagement frameworks are in place to scale effectively. Her expertise in recruitment, retention, employee engagement, and organizational development, positions ASCENT as an employer of choice in a competitive energy market.
